Plan Your Visit to Nassau, Bahamas

A Stone’s Throw Away is a private getaway perched above the colorful and bustling capital of the Bahamas, Nassau. Built on one of the highest elevations of the island, our resort boasts a breathtaking view of the sparkling waters of the Caribbean as well as an indulgent view of our private garden and pool area. The property is built to echo the traditions of an old Bahamian home: dark wood floors and ceilings, louvered shutters, and a large wrap-around porch that invites long conversation, slow relaxation, and a sense of peace and tranquility that is hard to find anywhere else. Escape reality and join us for a vacation that runs on island time.

By Car

The Bahamas are a collection of small islands that are easiest to explore by chartered boat, but Nassau is easy to navigate on foot, by bus, or by taxi. If you are planning on making excursions farther out or want to go into Nassau frequently, then we highly recommend renting a car. There are several options for car rentals in Nassau, including services available at the airport.

By Bus

Taxis can be quite expensive in the islands, and so we highly recommend that you either rent a car or, if you want to experience life as a local, take the bus. Buses run frequently and cost only $1.25 per ride, per person. Grab a seat inside, and when you want to stop, just say “bus stop” to the driver and he will let you off wherever you need to go.

By Plane

A Stone’s Throw Away is easily accessible by airport, as Lynden Pindling International Airport is conveniently located less than two miles away and is only a 5 to 10-minute drive from our property. Rental cars and taxis are available for your use at the airport upon your arrival.

By Sea

If you are traveling by boat, we are a short drive from the main cruise ship port, Nassau Harbor. Additionally, sailors looking for us on the west side of the island will have their choice of docking at Lyford Cay Harbor or Coral Harbor before coming to visit us, both just 15-minute drives from our front door.
